Dreaming Aber

So this is how I found little Aber this morning when I went in to wake him up for his breakfast. I like to think he dreamed that he was in a far, far away land traveling through the desert on a camel. Or maybe he dreamed that he was a Moroccan prince who was richer than any other prince in the world. More likely is that he just wiggled out of his daddy's swaddle job.

Let Ye Lesson Be Learned

So with three months under my belt, I can say that I now change a quick diaper, breeze through a bath, and can practically feed the boys in my sleep. Not today my friends. It started this morning when I went to feed the boys. I forgot to screw the lid on tight on Ben's bottle and so when I tilted it...need I say more. It was okay because they were both due for a bath so I partially cleaned us both up and continued the feeding. Well the story continues...Abe had a blowout mid-feeding and poo went EVERYWHERE! Fantastic. Change him, change me, clean up as best I could...again I repeat they were due for a bath. So, I finished the feeding and then started their bath. Well as I've said before the first rule with baby boys is "dinger down." Keep it covered and down at all times. I guess I got distracted or maybe even a little overconfident but I started spraying Ben down with no splash guard...lesson learned. He peed an ocean all over the counter, me and the kitchen floor.

Holy Thursday, Batman.
Re-wash Ben, clean up the ocean, change me. What a morning.

I Would LOOOOVVVVEEE To Know That You're Out There!

If you read this blog, sister or stranger, please leave me a comment! Or for the comment impaired, send me an email! (sarah10904@yahoo.com) I would love to know who is reading and following our site! I personally follow several blogs, a few of people I know, a few of people I don't. Anyway, it's just something I've been wondering about lately. So be brave, and speak out!

I'm an Auntie!

Congratulations to Brent and Lorena (my long time BF in Italy) on their new baby girl, Keely Marie Duncan. Born Wednesday, May 28th, at 10:30pm. She's 6 lbs. 6 oz. and 18.5 inches long. She also has her choice of two VERY handsome and eligible bachelors. : )

Whoops!

So today I met my friends at Dion's for our usual Tuesday lunch. Everything went fine but when I tried to leave, a funny thing happened. I was carrying out Ben and my friend Carol was carrying Abe. We walked across the parking lot to my car, I pressed the unlock button on my keys, and then we both went to opposite sides to start loading them up. We were deep in conversation; however, I was a little distracted as we got to the car by the children's handprints that were ALL over the side of the window. I was trying to think of where in the world they could have come from but nevertheless still opened the door and tried to start loading Ben. Carol did the same from her side. It was only after about five unsuccessful attempts to make the carseat snap into the base until I realized...this WASN'T MY CAR!! Someone with the exact same car was parked two spaces down from me and had apparently left their doors open! They even had a carseat base and a booster seat in their vehicle! We immediately burst into hysterical laughter and booked it out of there.

A Long Day at the "Office"

Obviously when you're mom and dad, there are NO days "off" of work. So even though today was a paid holiday for most, I spent my day doing my usual work duties. There was no sleeping in or lazy day in front of the tv. Rather I spent my day feeding, changing, playing, rocking, holding and quieting. However, tonight as I reflect on the day I find myself thinking...work isn't so bad. The hours may be long, and the pay crummy...but my view at the "office" is incredible.!!

The Diaper Bandit

(A bit of evidence)
Well, it turns out that our sweet little lamb, Boomer, is not so sweet. Rebellion has overtaken him. I think he's extremely jealous and he shows his feelings by DESTROYING diapers every night when the rest of the house goes to bed. Clean? Dirty? It makes nooooo difference to him! He'll find any diaper that he can and shred it to pieces. At first it was funny, then a bit annoying but now it's just getting to be expensive. Two nights ago he destroyed an entire pack of diapers. 108 in total! What a mess to find at 3 am!

T.G.G.C

T.G.G.C~Thank goodness grandma is coming! My mom and Mark come tomorrow for Courtney and David's graduations. They'll be here through Sunday and I can't wait to have grandma's helping hands! Things have really been a challenge lately! I don't know if we're just really busy or what. It's weird; we'll have a really good couple of days and then a couple of really bad days. It's quite frustrating. I am such a schedule oriented person and babies are just the opposite! Go figure right?!?! I am really having to retrain my brain in terms of how I am used to thinking. NOTHING gets done quite the way it used to! Most of the time it's okay but I do miss the days where laundry wasn't piled to the ceiling and dinner came at a pretty regular time! In due time I guess...
We're really excited to be celebrating both David and Court's graduations though! Dave is graduating from Eldorado and Court from UNM! It's amazing how time flies. It seems like only yesterday Jer and I were graduating from UNM, but that was three years ago! Even crazier than that is the fact that we have been out of high school eight years! Yikes! This week is Court's last week in Albuquerque too : ( On Sunday, she leaves to join Drew in College Station. We're happy for them to be reunited but sad that it means she'll be a plane flight or a VERY long drive away. Ben, Abe and I will miss our afternoons with Auntie Court.
The boys went to the pediatrician for shots ( 5 each) yesterday and needless to say they weren't happy campers. They did; however, get raving reviews for their weights (9.14-A, 8.2-B). They have both more than doubled their birthweights! Yeah! It's hard to believe that just 10 weeks ago they were so tiny! I can hardly remember what it felt like to hold my four pound babies!! They met their milestones for their checkup as well. It wasn't too hard considering that it only meant meeting three requirements 1. Smiling 2. Lifting their head at a 45 degree angle and 3. Fixating on objects. Still I was happy to hear they are right on track for a term baby.
Their sleeping patterns are staying about the same. They wake between 3 and 4 most nights but that's it! I have to say, getting up once at night sounds pretty easy compared to some of the horror stories I have heard from friends. Besides, once I'm awake I rather enjoy the quiet time with each of them. I used to wake and feed them both at the same time but I changed that up a few weeks ago so I could start spending some alone time with each of them. They're pretty peaceful at 3:30am and I enjoy rocking with them and listening to their little sounds as they eat. I think they like the undivided attention too.
I have some pictures that I wanted to post but unfortunately my camera batteries are charging. Hopefully, I'll be able to put some new pictures up tomorrow. Until then, this tired momma is signing off...

Happy Mothers Day!

(Abe, Mom, and Ben)

What is TV Coming To?!?

So last night Jer and I were trying to find something to watch on tv. I was flipping through the channels and reading the info about each show. Well, I came across one show called Wife Swap and couldn't believe the decription. This is the honest truth. It read: "A perfectionist wife trades places with a woman who serves her kids fast food tacos!" OH NO! The horror! Not fast food tacos!!! Hahaha! Who watches this garbage? Gotta love prime time tv!

Crying In Stereo

This is a fun game Abe and Ben have started to play. One starts crying and the other follows que. I didn't realize how immune I am to it until dad came over today. He said he could hear the boys outside from the street. I wonder what my neighbors think?

It Slices, It Dices...

By far...this is the coolest baby gadget that we now own (thanks to Jess and Nolan!). I can't wait for the babies to start eating solids so I can use this! Check out the Beaba Babycook!

You Know You Have Twins When...

You look at the clock, it says 3:09, you're still in your pj's, and all you've eaten is a brownie. Sigh.
